Do we ever get tired of the story we paint as hip hop artists… I’m over the following sequence…
Struggle…
Grind…
Struggle more…
Grind harder…
Lose friends/gain haters…
Grind harder…
Start getting more of a buzz…
Grind harder…
Start getting REAL recognition…
Grind harder…
Start finally seeing the light…
Then Die/get killed…
The price of fame that stems from the stuff you put in your music, the past life, the past negative energies… I constantly tell artists manifesting your career is definitely important! You don’t want to manifest negativity! Gets you nowhere fast. Much as I love the hot talk nobody wants to hear about nobody just throwing their life away.
Most homies/hoods/blocks (who you started kinda separating yourself from anyway, because you were growing and wanted more for your life) will hit you with an RIP post/shirt and keep it moving.. Trust me!
I just wish one day OUR culture will have more 80/90 year old ICONS built. Instead of 20-something year olds who had sooooo much potential, and were stopped early.
It’s sad. Disheartening. Discouraging. Especially as influential as we are.
